Walter has been a dedicated member at Mt. Carmel Worship Center, Holy Church of America since 1988. He began preaching in 1999 and was ordained as a minister in 2000. He is committed to teaching the gospel in a way that “not even a fool would error.” In edition to serving the church in the role of Family Life Pastor he also serves as the head musician for the church's live band. Walter truly has a servant's heart.
Walter was born in Kingsport, Tennessee and raised in Dayton, Ohio and Alumni graduated from John H. Patterson Co-Op High School in 1987. He relocated to Columbus in 1988 and graduated from Southern Ohio College in 1991. Walter graduated from Marion Christian Center in 1997, Breakthrough Reconciliation Ministries as a Lay Counselor in 1999 and the Young Preachers Institute in 2000.
Outside of his roles at the church, Walter serves as the treasurer for Men of Integrity, a community outreach ministry dedicated to bringing the Gospel to the heart of the inner-city. He has also volunteered as the stage director for the Columbus GospelFest (the largest outdoor Christian event in Columbus, Ohio) for over 13 years.
Walter is happily married to Evangelist Yolanda Adams, they are the proud parents of two children, Anton and Kaila.
On February 4, 2015 Apostle Walter Ray Adams was installed as Family Life Pastor.
